Here is the second round of questions and answers!
Multi-tasking mommy asked:
What is your favorite thing about being a Dad?
Watching the constant development of Esmeralda has to be my favorite part of being a Dad. For example, in the beginning, it was fascinating to see her try to move her hands. Now, I smile from ear to ear as she wanders around the house picking up as many different things as she can. Everyday, she does something new… Another great thing is seeing her smile and walking to me whenever I pick her up from daycare.
If you were to do one thing in life over again--what would it be and why?
If I were to do one thing differently, I would have changed my college major when I began to struggle with my upper-level industrial management classes. Halfway through my college career, I began to hate my course of study. For some reason, I felt obligated to complete my degree. I’m not sure if I did it for my parents or for myself. Whatever the reason, I suffered through it. I did manage to work in industry for almost eight years. But now, fourteen years after I graduated college, I am no where near the world of industrial management, and I love it.
Daniel Barlow (or Putz) asked:
oh, jasph my favorite one, whom would you most like to be gandi, i want to do something grand like walk to the seaq for saltEver since I read James Joyce’s Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man, I’ve had a problem with stream of consciousness, whether in spoken word or print. The question was unclear until Putz rephrased it…
rephrasing my question, do you jasper mockingbard expect to do anything grand like walk to the sea for salt???
I do not expect to do anything grand, because I am not an ambitious person. It would be fantastic to write and publish the “great American” novel someday, but since I am such an exceptional procrastinator, that day may never arrive. I suppose there are two realistic accomplishments I would like to achieve. A personal goal is to complete a triathlon. More importantly, I would like to inspire at least one student to do something “grand” with their life.
Since it unlawful to throttle students who are disrespectful, defiant and don’t care about their education, I would like throttle their parents for allowing (or raising) their children to behave that way.
When did you last see a shooting star?
I’m not sure. I was probably at my parents’ house, when my mother woke me in the wee hours of the morning to watch some sort of astronomical phenomenon. If I had to guess, it’s been about 20 years.
Where the hell have you been??
I’ve been around, lurking... As I said in my previous post, I’ve been uninspired and busy with the family. All my free time that would have normally been used for writing has been spent searching for my wallet.
Thanks to all of the inquisitive people! I would love to answer more challenging questions! Keep them coming!
