To add to the turbulence that was this past weekend, an old buddy came to visit. It seems his wife and MIL were in Vegas to celebrate the MIL's 65th b-day. He thought it was a great opportunity to get out of town for a while. We were not ones to argue.
So he arrived in time for lunch, so that is what we did. Then we took the kids to the park to let them run around. (It was one of the few times this weekend that it wasn't raining.) After we figured that the kids' diapers were full we came home. Miss L went down for a nap and the rest played.
As it was pushing dinner time, we offered to host dinner, but my friend opted out figuring that his FIL was just milling about his house aimlessly because his wife wasn't there to tell him what to do. He feels that it is his job to make sure that his FIL is ok. I guess that is what a good son-in-law does.
Well, Mr. B never got a nap. While he was cranky, he wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. What surprised me was how tired I was. I didn't realize how much I needed the kids to take a nap.
The Wife and I were spent. Not the good kind of spent either. We were just unable to keep our eyes open, but the house still needed to be cleaned up. It was decided that the house would still be there in the morning, so we went off to bed. Early.
Reasons.

Whoa, hold on there. What an action packed weekend. Is it the kids who need the nap or was it you and the wife?
Dear Nap Time,
You rock. We love you. Please never leave us.
Best,
Every stay at home parent in the history of time.
Nap? What is this nap you speak of?? Never had one.... the kids were always underfoot!
