Homework, by Russ

So I spent the day writing my paper for school.  I had forgotten how much I hate writing.

"But wait," you say.  "You write a blog, and have done so for the last five or so years," you say.

You would be correct.  I write this because I want to.  It is a way to work through crap in my head.  It is a way to share joys and concerns.  Most importantly, I'm not graded on it.  (You could argue that the number of readers/commenters is my grade, but this won't cost me a job and if someone doesn't like what I have to say that's fine.)

Damn, and I have a bunch more classes to go.  Doing this online means a lot more papers to write.  I guess much like when I first started writing online, my prose was horrible (as opposed to the merely lacking that it is now), my graded writing will only improve as well.

Mr. B's first official day of school is tomorrow.  He had his assessment last week and was great (as far as the going to and from school, I have no idea how he did in the assessment).  To night is the back to school night where we get to meet his teacher (she has yet to be assigned).  I hope that they will let us in on the assessment results.  Partly because I hope it to be an ego boost (not holding too much of my breath on that) and partly because I want to know what we need to work on with him.
