Weekend in review, by Russ

So the weekend is over.  Not three days too soon either.

I would say it was one of the less painful weekends, which is not to say that there was no pain.  There was less pain because I spent Saturday at UNCC doing my orientation and the normal scurrying about campus getting questions answered, crap purchased, ID made, etc.  Which was a pain in and of itself, but I got to hang out with some pretty cool people and make some new contacts.  Then when I came home, I had enough time to drink a bourbon and head to my neighbor's house for our monthly dinner club.  (And get a bit more than tipsy on margaritas, homemade margaritas not the 'just add rum' variety.)

"So where did the pain come in?" you ask.  Well, on Friday afternoon FIL, my dad, and I all played golf (I did so poorly).  FIL finished cursing and picked up his ball on the 18th green.  My dad picked up on the 16th green when his electrodes started falling off (post for another time).  On the positive side, the round was only $40 and included cart, small bucket of ball for driving range, and lunch (not a bad deal considering that normally just the round is $50 and cart is extra).

After the round we came home (wife not home yet, grrrr) and I got to rehydrating so I could get to drinking something stronger without waking up with a raging hangover.  The wife came home and I fired up the grill to cook some burgers.

I take the dog for a walk while the kids get hosed off and then I take a shower when I get home.  FIL is still in his clothes from golf.  On my couch.

Saturday, FIL in same green shirt he wore Friday.  Had the decency to change shirt and apply liberal amount of deodorant before joining us at the neighbor's house.

Sunday, FIL in same green shirt he wore on Friday.  Had the decency to change shirt (to same shirt he wore the night before) and apply liberal amount of deodorant before going to church.

That green shirt could have walked back to Athens by Sunday.  I truly don't think that he showered all weekend.  MIL took a bath (yep, grown woman takes a bath.  Not for relaxing, but for her daily cleansing, that's a bit weird to me.) and I have only seen one used bath towel in the guest bath.  So it is possible that he did bathe, and then shared a towel, but it seems somewhat unlikely.

Febreeze just doesn't seem like enough.

Ick. Changing the guest bedroom sheets should be fun. *shivers*

This appears to be the norm for white men over age 70, but I have a feeling your FIL is not that old!

Anyway, I hold my breath every time I pass one in a store.

Febreeze? I think you have to move.

And not tell them the new address.
