Death in the Aquarium, by Russ

Recently we had a one of my longest lived fish finally take the ride on the porcelain express.  It was an angel fish that had survived for several years and it was one of Mr. B's favorite fish.  He noticed that it was missing very quickly and we were forced to introduce him the concept of death.

Even though he took the news hard, I still took him to the pet store to buy a new angel fish.  He was very happy to have it.  Unfortunately, he found his new fish "sleeping" at the bottom of the tank.

Now I'm off to the pet store to replace it.

Well, at least fish are easier to explain than the fuzzy pets.

+1 for Blondefabulous. You can't flush a gerbil (although now, in hindsight, maybe this is the root of your plumbing suffering recently?)

The weird thing we noticed about fish is that they either only lived 24 hours after purchase OR we couldn't kill them. I swear we had some neon tetras that lived 6 years and we finally flushed them because no one bothered to feed or clean the tank anymore.
