Spent the weekend with the out-laws. As far as visits go, I've had far worse. Not to say this was enjoyable, I've just had far worse.
Friday didn't look too good. Everybody was yelling over each other to be heard. The kids were hyped up like nobody's business. Nala was scared to move. I just wanted to run away.
I sort of split the difference and took Nala for a long walk (no short piers to end the pain). I could hear the noise from the street. Unfortunately it was too cool to stay outside for very long and I was forced to go back in.
On the long drive there, the Wife remembered that Miss L took her blanket out of her travel bag and never put it back. This did not bode well for the weekend. Thankfully, she had not requested it in the car (we usually keep the kids blankets with them, not sure why we didn't this time).
Add to that, the Wife and I got flu shots earlier in the week and either were having a reaction to the shots, or (more likely) we had a cold (still have really, and that did nothing to help the mood), we were not looking forward to the weekend.
Miss L turned out to be a little trooper. She woke the Wife four times in the middle of the night to use the bathroom (she sleeps closer to the door and was bothered first and I had in earplugs), but there were no tears. The second night, she had no issues at all and slept straight through the night. I can't say that Mr. B would have been as good.
Beyond that, it just was the usual complains. MIL talked too much, drank too much, and was a general busybody. FIL ate with his mouth open, ate from the serving spoon and bowl (thankfully after the rest of us had enough), can't speak to his language as the Wife and I disappeared during the uga game, and his usual aloof self when MIL was asking questions of him.
School this week looks to be more demanding than previous weeks, so I may be a bit more disconnected this week.
Go ahead....

You know, I never bought into the whole "I got sick from the flu shot" but I have to tell you....2 of my kids got the flu mist this year on different days, and they both seemed to get a cold the day after. I swear it was from the mist!
You spend too much time with family. Just sayin'!
Flu shots are the government's citizen tracking beta-testing.
